MAHSA co-hosts 3rd International Conference on Public Health
The 3rd International Conference on Public Health (ICOPH 2017) was held from 27th to 29th July 2017 in Armada Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with the theme “Strengthening the Public Health Infrastructure towards Healthy Communities”. MAHSA University is one of the co-hosts to the conference and had earlier signed a MOU with the organizers International Institute of Knowledge and Management.
MAHSA University’s delegation was led by Professor Dr. Wang Chee Woon, Deputy Dean for the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Science.
Professor Dr Hematram Yadav from the Department of Community Medicine who was the conference co-chair, Member of the Scientific Committee, and Editor in Chief of the ICOPH journal, presented a paper entitled ‘Transition in Medical Education: Globalization in Health Care’.
Professor Dr. Hari Darnal Kumar from the Department of Pathology, presented 2 papers : ‘Integrated Medical Curriculum- Experience, Outcome and Limitations’and ‘Renal Complications in Diabetes Patients’.
Dr. Sowmya Ramakrishnappa from the Department of Community Medicine presented a poster entitled ‘Human Papillomavirus Vaccine Acceptability and its Associated Factors Among Female Students at a Private Medical University in Kuala Lumpur’.
Three MBBS students, Nurfazreen binti Mazlan, Joyce Lim Shiu Hui and Muhammad Aiman Syafiq Bin Mohd Arif presented a poster entitled ‘Implementation of Hygienic Procedures among Pre-Schoolers: Pre & Post intervention study’.
