Reaching In, Reaching Out
MAHSA students are reaching out to help and bring positive impact to their communities.
On 13th May 2017, seventy students led by the MAHSA Student Representative Council and Dental Students Society came together for the MAHSA Health Carnival and Euphoria 3.0. Both events were held simultaneously.
Reaching out and connecting to the community is part of the MAHSA culture. The students collaborated with the Malaysian Youth Community, the Breast Cancer Welfare Association PJ, Klink Kesihatan Jenjarom and various other organisations to put together both events attracting a crowd of over 500 people.
There were free health screening including breast screening and dental screening, and health awareness talks.
The crowd was highly entertained by JOOX who put on a mini concert. They also enjoyed the festivities and food stalls, which included Boat Noodles and Chill Chill. There were also many booths selling hotdogs, spaghetti, waffles, corn, ice-cream, chocolates, watermelon juice, tarts and many other local delights.
Many people were seen at the artistic booth for their temporary tattoo and hairstyling services. The highlight of the day was the haunted house which was a big hit with the younger crowd.
Professor Dato’ Dr. Khairul Anuar, Vice Chancellor, in officiating the event, congratulated the president of the Student Representative Council, Ian Chong, and the organizing committee for their dedication and team spirit and hoped that students will continue to reach out to serve their communities.
